Case Study
Fruit Street
Ingenuity took over design and development responsibility for Fruit Street's existing digital health application and marketing website, helping stabilize a complex handoff, improve product and UX continuity, and coordinate delivery across multiple international contributors.
Fruit Street already had an active digital health product, established business requirements, existing users, a marketing website, and multiple technical workstreams in progress. The challenge was not to start with a clean slate. Ingenuity had to inherit an existing application and website, understand what another team had already built, identify where product and UX continuity were at risk, and move development forward without disrupting the broader program.
The delivery environment was also distributed. Specialized development partners in other countries were responsible for parts of the technical implementation, which meant business priorities, design decisions, technical constraints, and implementation ownership had to stay aligned across teams and time zones.
Because the product supported a virtual diabetes-prevention program, clarity and trust were especially important. Participants, coaches, administrators, and prospective users all interacted with different parts of the experience. The application needed to support recurring engagement over time, while the marketing website had to educate visitors, communicate the program clearly, and support conversion.
Fruit Street needed a partner that could stabilize the handoff, improve the product experience, coordinate across contributors, and maintain delivery momentum inside an already-moving digital health program.
Ingenuity approached the engagement as a takeover, stabilization, and acceleration effort.
The first priority was to understand the existing product and website: what had already been designed and developed, how the current user journeys worked, where usability could be improved, and which parts of the application required continuing engineering support.
From there, Ingenuity helped connect product design, front-end development, application workflows, website improvements, and external-vendor work into a clearer delivery process. Rather than allowing design, development, and specialized partner work to operate as separate tracks, the team helped align priorities, clarify requirements, and create shared context around implementation decisions.
The focus remained practical. Inherited products often carry technical debt, unfinished decisions, inconsistent patterns, and fragmented ownership. Ingenuity worked within the existing foundation while identifying improvements that could strengthen usability and keep delivery moving without forcing an unnecessary rebuild.
Ingenuity assumed hands-on responsibility across both the Fruit Street application and its public-facing marketing website.
Within the application, the team reviewed existing product flows and supported ongoing development as requirements evolved. The work focused on maintaining product continuity, improving usability, and helping the platform continue to support participants, coaches, administrators, and the recurring engagement model behind Fruit Street’s virtual diabetes-prevention program.
For the marketing website, Ingenuity worked on design and development intended to make the program easier to understand, strengthen trust, communicate eligibility and value, and provide clearer pathways toward sign-up.
Ingenuity also played a coordination role across international contributors. By helping bridge business priorities, product decisions, technical constraints, and implementation responsibilities, the team provided a more coherent operating layer around a complex multi-partner delivery environment.
Ingenuity helped Fruit Street maintain continuity during a critical product transition by taking over responsibility for an existing application and marketing website without requiring the broader program to restart around a new delivery team.
The engagement provided a more stable product and delivery foundation: existing user experiences could be reviewed and improved, application development could continue as requirements changed, the marketing website could evolve alongside the product, and specialized external contributors could work within a clearer coordination structure.
The value of the engagement was therefore broader than individual interface improvements. Fruit Street gained a dependable product partner capable of inheriting an active digital health environment, reducing delivery friction, and helping the platform continue to evolve.
No quantitative data on conversion improvement, engagement, delivery speed, reliability, clinical outcomes, or participant retention was supplied with the project description. This case study therefore does not create unsupported Outcome Metrics or attribute health outcomes to Ingenuity’s work.
